
As part of the European programme Equal: “fight against discriminations and inequalities at work”, Génériques has developed the project entitled : “training memory mediators to fight discriminations”. This action has been implemented between 2005 and 2007. It is based on a national partnership gathering l’Association pour l’Enseignement et la Formation des Travailleurs Immigrés et leurs Familles (AEFTI), la Fédération d’Associations et Centres d’Espagnols Emigrés en France (FACEEF), le Centre Ressources de la Politique de la ville en Essonne (CRPVE) and la Bibliothèque de Documentation Internationale Contemporaine (BDIC).
Indeed, Génériques has identified several difficulties faced by memory project leaders. The project’s purpose is to contribute to the formulation of a methodology for memory projects conception and implementation and to create tools that answer stakeholders’ needs. Doing so, three actions have been implemented.
* Organising training days on the valorization and exploitation of immigration private archives. In this purpose, Génériques has listed several archive collections (APAFE,Soleil en Essonne, Casa regional Valenciana de Paris, Casa España de Vitry et du Val-de-Marne,Génération femmes, Association de parents d’enfants handicapés espagnols, Fédération AEFTI, El Hogar de los Españoles, Associacion socio cultural asturian en Paris, Casa de España de Corbeil-Essonnes, Maison du monde d'Evry, AEFTI 75, AEFTI 93). They are now all available to the public on the website.
* Preparing the exhibition: Generations a hundred year history of North Africans in France led by a team of young researchers.
* The production and diffusion of a methodological tools and guidelines on immigration memory projects making.
In addition, diffusion actions have also been implemented such as seminars, conferences, open days and publications.
Finally, Génériques has expanded its partnership to the European level with the Italian PDD Pane e Denti and the Greek PDD Xenios Dias in order to exchange best practices in the fight against discriminations.
