Présentation

Ineke van der Valk is researcher in Discourse Studies at the University of Amsterdam. She also studied ethnic studies and educational studies.

Before becoming a researcher she worked as a community organizer with the migrant movement, the anti-racist movement and the human rights movement. She published a book on the history of the migrants movement in the Netherlands and articles on human rights violations in Morocco and the political discourse on ethnic issues in the Netherlands and France.

She wrote her PHd-thesis on mainstream and extreme-right political discourse on ethnic issues in the Netherlands and France (1990-1997). She also works as a consultant and trainer in the field of diversity management.

Her research interests include immigration, racism, ethnicity, migrants' movements, politics, right-extremism, the Netherlands, France and Morocco.
